Here's a demand for animators from our Slovakian member: they are currently doing activities for the young Ukrainian children and would need support by international animators during the month of August. Where: The big capacity accommodation building is in Gabcikovo (a 1 hour ride by car from Bratislava - Slovakia) What: 4h afternoon programme with the kids and teens (sports, games, activities) + 1h hour ride to Gabcikovo and 1h ride back to Bratislava, in the mornings we would like to take the volunteers around the city and for some close trips near Bratislava Accommodation: we are checking the possibilities of accommodation in Bratislava Costs: the travels are not reimbursed on our side, so the volunteers would pay that themselves we are currently looking for financial grants for the accommodation and food, in case you would have some resources for that we can discuss it. Background information We started here in Domka a very nice project about 2 months ago - we travel from Bratislava with our volunteers to Gabcikovo (1 hour by car from Bratislava) and we lead some free time activities there for children. There are about 700 people, 300 children from all of it. And they don't have school or anything yet. We started to help children there and other organisations try to take care of other things for people. We also decided to prepare summer camps for them, but we don't have enough volunteers during summer, because our usual volunteers are making programs for children in our centres. We have capacity for 3 weeks and now we came with the idea to bring foreign volunteers for example for 1 week in August. The best would be if we can start to speak about this idea with somebody from the UK, if it would not be possible, then we can start to speak about international week from different countries however at first we like to bring young people from UK there to prepare the kids for English which is needed also here in the Slovak schools.
