The Salesians of Don Bosco in Odessa work from 1958. They work in elementary school, kindergarten, hostel for students, parish, and charitable foundation. Charitable foundation “Don Bosko” was created in 2000. From beginning is born as oratory. For more than 12 years it has been carrying out different projects directed at the creative, sports, cultural and mental development of young people. At the hub of their work is a vibrant group of young adults across the province working alongside them as lay Salesians, they make up the group known here as the youth ministry team.
 
One of the essential activities of the foundation is volunteering. There is also an Oratory for youth, attached to Charitable foundation, where teenagers can spend their time. It was created like an alternative to street for teenagers to have a positive example and to have an opportunity for self-development. There also exists a group for children «Svetlitsa», in which teachers-volunteers gladly organize interesting activities for children. We have emergency projects (clothes, electricity…), support families, psychological  & social help for IDP, after school activities (English theatre, sports…).
 
The work of volunteers is possible also in the frame of EVS from 2015. For many youths is very interesting and various. Our creative and active volunteers make different performances, help children, take part in various social projects.
