Short Term ESC Project (4 weeks) in the Netherlands
Assel, Hoog Soeren, Gerlderland Summer 2024: 1-31 July or 1-31 August 2024 Are you between 18 and 30 years old? Do you like to be in nature? Meeting new people? Working with children or young people in a youth centre, summer camp or youth exchange and do you like to explore the Netherlands? Then, this is your chance! "4 weeks of working, exploring, meeting new people and having fun!" For more information, please contact Rianne Wanders at [email protected] What will you do? July In the beginning of July, you and the other international volunteer will arrive in Assel. During your stay, you will work together with the local volunteers and social workers in a youth centre, on the venue and you will be leader of 1 week of summer camp for children and youngsters. Also you will go on excursions to Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague to explore the Netherlands and our cultures and meet lots of different people. August In the beginning of August, you and the other international volunteer will arrive in Assel. During your stay, you will work together with the local volunteers and social workers in a youth centre, on the venue and you will be a part of an international youth exchange about eco-circularity. Also you will go on excursions to Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague to explore the Netherlands and our cultures and meet lots of different people. Where will you live? You will live on the venue of Assel Don Bosco Centrum, next to one of the biggest National Parcs of the Netherlands, de Veluwe. In a house which you share with one other international volunteer, but you will have your own personal room for the whole month. There is a kitchen, bathroom and living space. Also, there is a Salesian community living at the venue and you will also work and live with them. We want to get young people actively involved in the world and Dutch society. We offer young people a place where, with guidance and encouragement, they can develop into active and engaged citizens. We do this by means of meeting activities in the Netherlands and intercultural participation experiences in Europe, in which young people can learn about themselves, each other and the world in an informal way. We work from the Don Bosco philosophy, which focuses on developing yourself in freedom, taking responsibility, being together and giving meaning to life. We encourage young people to develop and use their talents within our organisation and the world. All this in the hope and belief that they will continue to engage in their immediate lives.
